The Sustainable Process Industry for Resources Efficiency celebrated the international conference “EU PROCESS INDUSTRY CONFERENCE: A LOOK TO THE FUTURE” to gather the main stakeholders of the process industry all along Europe. The event was the framework to analyze and review the status of the sector, as well as the trend and perspectives for the upcoming years.
The event was held in Brussels, on the 19th of September, and was chaired by the President of the SPIRE association. It counted with the participation of several representatives of the European Commission, form the Directorates General of Research & Innovation, Energy, Connect, Grow or Climate, who provided the vision of the European Commission of the industrial sectors involved in SPIRE.
In addition, various companies of these sectors also took part in the conference to present their point of view, needs, opportunities and barriers they are facing in their development strategies.
Finally, SPIRE gathered over 50 different European Projects related to a wide range of fields such as process optimization, modelling control, valorization of energy sources, alternative feedstock or industrial symbiosis, among others. Each of these projects make a general presentation of their goals and findings to ptomote resource and energy efficiency.
